Epafi - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Epafi by Tristonia (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles your information when you use our mobile application.

Last Updated: 11th of October 2026

Epafi has no account, no server and no internet access. Everything you put into it stays on your phone. We never see the people you add, your notes or your catch-ups.

1. About Epafi

Epafi helps you keep in touch with family and friends. You choose the people you want to stay close to, and Epafi gives you a gentle reminder when it has been a while. It is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. The app does not have permission to use the internet, so it cannot send anything to us or to anyone else. There is no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising.

3. Your Contacts

If you choose to add people from your phone’s contacts, Epafi asks for permission to read them. It uses that permission only to show you the list so you can pick people, and to copy the name, phone number and birthday of the people you choose into Epafi. This happens on your device. Your contacts are never uploaded, and Epafi never changes or deletes anything in your phone’s address book. You can also add people by hand without giving this permission.

4. Calls and Messages

When you tap Call, Text, WhatsApp, Signal or Telegram, Epafi opens that app with the person’s number ready. Epafi does not place calls or send messages itself, and it cannot see what you say. Those apps have their own privacy policies.

5. Data Storage

The people you add, their circles, notes, birthdays and the catch-ups you log are stored only on your device. Epafi is excluded from Android’s cloud backup, so none of it goes to your Google account. If you move to a new phone using a cable or a direct phone-to-phone transfer, Android may bring it across. Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on the device.

If you use “Save a backup”, Epafi writes a file to the place you choose. You can protect it with a passphrase, in which case the file is encrypted (AES-256) and can’t be read without it. Where the file goes from there is up to you.

6. Permissions

7. Data Sharing

We don’t share or sell data, because we don’t collect any and the app has no way to send it.

8. Children’s Privacy

Epafi is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
